My name is Tom Fougerousse and I’m co-founder of Marketplace Partner. I’ve been working in e-commerce for 9 years. I started my career as an Ebay Powerseller where I sold kegerators, and have since been involved in several online store launches. Among other things, I now manage over 25,000 SKUs on multiple marketplaces for www.rosenberryrooms.com.
In the last 9 years I’ve made tons of mistakes and learned just as much, and those lessons and thoughts are what I hope to share with you.
I’m passionate about e-commerce, small business, and entrepreneurship, so those are the topics I’ll be covering. I’m going to break this blog into the following categories, so if you visit regularly this is what you can expect:
- Selling on Third Party Marketplaces. Considering we’re here to help you succeed in increasing your sales on third party marketplaces, while also reducing the amount of time and effort you put into it, will be my primary focus. You can expect tips and tricks as well as warnings on what not to do.
- Operations and Technology. I’ve been able to test, use, and advise some great software companies in the last 9 years. On the other hand, some products wasted my time and money. If you’ve ever been the the Internet Retailer Exhibition Hall you know that there is so much choice out there it’s hard to figure out what is worth it and what isn’t. I’ll share my experiences and thoughts.
- Relevant Book Reviews. I’m a complete book junky and read at least one or two business books a month. I’ll share the key takeaways with you as well as practical tips on how you can implement the ideas in your business.
- Entrepreneurship. This category will provide you with a wide variety of ideas on time management, leadership, startups, dreaming big, and the philosophy behind working for yourself. I hope to give you some ideas that can make your days a little easier and your future a little closer.
I intend to post weekly as I get my feet wet and we’ll see where it goes from there. I’ll also keep the posts short and relevant so that I don’t waste your time. My last disclaimer is that I have no formal English grammar education and no writing background whatsoever. I grew up in Austria so I was schooled in German. I hope you’ll never notice though, since my wife was an English major in college and will ensure I don’t commit any major offenses.
